Product Overview

The ball mill is the key equipment for crushing the material after it is crushed. This type of grinding machine is to put a certain number of steel balls in its barrel as grinding medium.

It is widely used in cement, silicate products, new building materials, refractory materials, fertilizers, ferrous and non-ferrous metal beneficiation and glass ceramics and other production industries, dry or wet grinding of various ores and other grindable materials. Ball mills are suitable for grinding various ores and other materials. They are widely used in mineral processing, building materials and chemical industries. Working Principle

Ball mill is composed of a horizontal cylinder, an inlet and outlet hollow shaft and a grinding head. The cylinder is a long cylinder, and the cylinder is equipped with a grinding body. The cylinder body is made of steel plate, fixed by a steel lining plate and the cylinder body, The grinding body is generally a steel ball, and is loaded into the barrel according to different diameters and a certain proportion.The material is loaded into the cylinder by the hollow shaft at the feed end of the ball mill. When the cylinder of the ball mill rotates, the grinding body is attached to the cylinder liner and taken away by the cylinder due to inertia, centrifugal force and frictional force. When it is brought to a certain height, it is removed by its own gravity. After being thrown, the falling grinding body smashes the material in the cylinder like a projectile.

The material from the feeding device through the feeding hollow shaft spirals evenly into the first bin of the mill. The bin has a stepped lining plate or corrugated lining plate, loaded with various specifications of steel balls, cylinder rotation produces centrifugal force to bring the steel ball to a certain height after falling, the material has the effect of beating and grinding.​​ After rough grinding in the first warehouse, the material enters the second warehouse through the single-layer partition.​​ The warehouse is inlaid with flat lining boards and steel balls, and the materials are further ground.​​ The powder is discharged through the unloading grate to complete the grinding operation.

While the cylinder is rotating, the grinding body is also sliding down.

In order to fully grind the materials during the sliding process of the grinding body, for the materials with larger grinding particle size (materials of about 20 meshes), the grinding body cylinder is divided into two sections by a partition board, that is, it becomes a double warehouse. When the material enters the first warehouse, it is crushed by steel balls. When the material enters the second warehouse, the steel section grinds the material, and the ground and qualified materials are discharged from the hollow shaft at the discharge end.


For grinding materials with small particle size, such as sand no.2 slag and coarse fly ash, the cylinder body of the mill can be a single bin drum mill without partition board, and the grinding body can also use steel section.

The raw material passes through the hollow journal into the hollow cylinder for grinding. The cylinder contains grinding media of various diameters (steel balls, rods or gravel, etc.). ​ When the cylinder rotates about the horizontal axis at a certain speed, the medium and raw materials installed in the cylinder reach a certain height under the action of centrifugal force and friction force. When its own gravity is greater than the centrifugal force, it will fall or roll down from the inner wall of the cylinder, and break the ore due to the impact force. ​ At the same time, in the process of mill rotation, the sliding motion of grinding medium also produces a grinding effect on raw materials.​ The ground material is discharged through a hollow journal.

2. What particle size range does your ball mill produce?

Typically the Clirik ball mill will grind friable or crystalline materials down to the 0.075 -0.4/0.89 mm average particle size range. Particles larger than 10 microns are generally hard-to-fracture polymers such as toner compounds or hard waxes, and some organic materials, but if a larger size is wanted, many products can be ground larger than 10 microns by reducing power to the mill or by increasing the rate of feed. Some products are simply polished to remove sharp edges by running at elevated feed rates with low grinding pressure, a process that changes how the material compacts.
